When Cavo rescues Liam from an unfortunate situation in the forest, the paths of the monster and the beast cross for the first time. Bakemono to Kedamono began as a web comic released on the author's Twitter account from August 18, 2017, to September 23, 2022 and published in print by Kadokawa from March 31, 2018, to September 30, 2022. The series was published in English as Monster and the Beast by Yen Press from June 25, 2019, to June 20, 2023.
