Yoichi Saotome is a member of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army's Moon Demon Squad.
In the past, his family was attacked by vampires and his sister was killed trying to protect him whilst he remained hidden underneath the bed. This incident stimulated his desire to fight against the vampires in order to avenge his sister's death.
