In mid-18th century Paris, the infamous Sanson family is known as the executioners of France. Expelled from boarding school after relentless bullying, 14-year-old Charles-Henri Sanson, the family's fourth-generation heir, finds himself trapped in a legacy he never chose, expected to inherit a trade that society both loathes and fears.

Despite being soft-hearted and idealistic, Charles-Henri is forced to begin his grim training under his family’s high expectations, facing the moral and emotional trials that will define him. Innocent was nominated for the 18th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize Reader Award in 2014. In 2015, it was nominated for the eighth Manga Taisho Award and placed seventh in the final ranking. The series was published in English by Dark Horse Comics as 3-in-1 omnibus volumes from November 22, 2023, to December 3, 2024.
