About Aristes, Lani
He is the head of the Ministry of Priesthood and one of the traditional retainers of the throne, his power is in equal terms of that of the king, in which it has an authority approve any marriage that the king desires. His ministry despise Livinus because of his mother who happens to be the former king's concubine and whose race is of ethnic minority so for Livinus to be the king is an act of desecrating the throne. It is hinted that he has had a lot of princesses killed during the rite of Illumination so to keep Livinus from having a wife and a possible heir to the throne.
