The grandson of the Pope, he is impudent and cocky. However, he possesses a high sense of duty and eventually grows to become more caring.

[Spoiler] He eventually marries Elinalise Dragonroad and they have a son named Clive together. Cliff vows to get rid of Elinalise's curse of dying if she doesn't have sex after a period of time and spends much time researching on that matter. He is now able to suppress the curse for a whole year. In the meantime, he also works to dispel Orsted's curse that causes humans to automatically hate and fear him. It has progressed to the point where it is suppressible, but Orsted must wear a helmet with no visor in order for the solution to take effect.

He also later becomes the lead developer along with Zanoba Shirone in creating a prosthetic arm dubbed "Zariff's Prosthetic Arm." They later research and invent more mechanisms such as developing magic armor for Rudeus. [/Spoiler]

[Spoiler] He received demon eyes from Kishirika Kishirisu when he saves her in a similar manner that Rudeus did. [/Spoiler]

[Spoiler] Cliff later must leave his home in Sharia and head to his hometown Milishion where it is expected that he will eventually succeed the position of Pope. [/Spoiler]

[Spoiler] In the alternate timeline, Cliff is killed in a cathedral in Milishion when Rudeus, Zanoba, and him attempted to steal God Class detoxification chants in order to cure Roxy who was inflicted with Magic Stone Disease. [/Spoiler]
